2009 Ruslin Ryelands for Sale List
We have enquires for Ryelands from 4 Countries – Northern Ireland, Southern Ireland, Holland and The Faukland Islands of which 3 look likely to mature – In fact our Royal Bath & West Champion has been sold to Holland subject to Blood tests. Southern & Northern Ireland are interested in Ewe Lambs but these cannot be tested until they are 12 months old next Feb/March 2010
We therefore have no females for sale in 2009
Only 2 Shows attended this Season – Devon County 4 first prizes and Champion Female
Royal Bath & West 5 first prizes and Supreme Champion. Our Champion Ewe went on to win the Wool-on-Hoof shortwool Championship of Show
The Yearling Ram Champion K112 was in Final selection of 5 for Supreme Championship of All breeds (since booked for Holland
Our Ewe lambs have been shorn – likewise the Younger Ram lambs will be shorn soon and will be big enough to work in Oct/Nov – they are well-grown by our 2004 Royal Champion Ruslin Albert and Ruslin King (the ram sold to Holland)
All the sheep have been Blue tongued vaccinated by our Vet on June 22nd and will be treated with Heptavac P before sale
Rams have been entered for sale at the Ryeland show & sale – Ludlow August 29th, Native Breed show & sale Melton Mowbery Sep 11th12. It is very unlikely that we shall attend Carlisle on Sept 19th
This season we have not drenched any lamb so far with any worm drench their only treatment has been Blue Tongue and Heptavac P end of July. They are all well grown with no dirty tails whatsoever.
